Nanban trade is the current End game trade system in UWO. Done correctly a LOT of money can be made as well as points and gifts. some are very confused by this but it's pretty easy when you see it as proper supply and Demand with direct trade vs. purchase with money. Everything has a value.
First go here and get familiar with the Ivyro Nanban trade charts
http://uwodbmirror.ivyro.net/eg/main.php?id=85000040
Lets take each item one by one. first is the Back stock. Back stock gives you the info. of what happens for each Type of town status ie. Rescission, War, Boom, etc. for each status you get plus or minus to each type of goods, however there are still types of goods that are favorable for example Tamsui when Drought affects the town Spices, Dyes and Fragrances are more desirable to the town. so this is the first stage of knowing what to trade to your target city.
Next is looking at the type of items you want to trade so let's take the example of a Drought in Tamsui, and we are going to take Spice trading. Going to the pictures below where we saw Back stock we find spice trading. we see a list of specialty goods: Saffron, Sichuan Pepper, Green Chilies, Cardamom, Chilies and Mace. to the right of those is a value, obviously Saffron at 2164 is the best option to trade. lets take another example Wares in Taiwan, here it is a bit different, Copper is the highest value of 1744, however, Marble at 1112 but it's a Local Specialty so it's value is the same if not more.
3rd. Now there is one more item so we can decide when to trade this item. for this we go in game and talk to the Nanban Trade Merchant. select your Country, in our example Taiwan then city Tamsui. then in the bottom box select your good in this case lets pick spices as we have an imaginary load of spice. we look at the graph on the right and see a line with a series of dots. unfortunately it doesn't tell you what it means, thankfully many others have figured out what this means, so the thought buy low sell high does apply but in the reverse. Here we want to trade low so if out last dot on our graph is at the bottom this is a perfect time to trade as the Back stock in Tamsui is very low. But if the last dot is all the way at the top switch to an alt or log off for a bit and comeback later to check the market, or select a different item to trade that is more beneficial.
4th. alright you have made it to Tamsui your ready to trade but what do you trade for. Well first go back to Ivyro Nanban and look at market rates for Taiwan, there are a total of 22 items for Taiwan but only certain items are favored in each region. let's use British Isles as the examples the favored items are Taiwan Mijiu, Thai Galangal, Taiwanese Woodcarving and Bronze Hand Cannon. (Note they have nerfed the sell price listed, but did not change the products) so we have established the best items to sell in England, (however make sure your character is of that nation you are getting trade goods for b/c if not it defeats the purpose.)
Finally we go back in game to Nanban Merchant and look for the highest back stock of the Taiwan Mijiu, Thai Galangal, Taiwanese Woodcarving and Bronze Hand Cannon. they fall under the trade goods list ie. Taiwan Miju = Alcohol. once you have identified that, it's time to make the trade. from here you can use a Nanban Purveyor certificates to increase the number 3 times the amount..
Other things that effect the amount you can trade for:
Nanban Cargo hold ship skill
Skill ranks ie Alcohol trading, dye trading, spice trading etc.
One other aspect is the Company trade for Nanban, Be very careful with this, if you trade at the wrong type/times/conditions then you can actually lower the points for the company.
*EDIT: So I discovered something interesting about the back-stock, it seems to update every 10 min or so, Each dot on the line shows an update, so you can see it's pattern as of the last 11 updates, making it close to 2 hr trend. This is actually big deal as trip time from Europe to East Asia can take, Depending on your ship and boosts, can take between 30 min. to 2 hours. very helpful in helping you to decide if it is a good time to go or not.*
hope this helps you all

Land Battle
Hey all,
So I wanted to do a Land Battle guide. Some may say "whats the point put on good Armour and good weapons and go there is nothing more to it!" But nothing could be further from the truth, fact is that UWO's Combat system is just as complex as the Melee, Deck and Sea battles. My goal hear is not to go into a huge amount of all the info (others have already don that), but to give My observations, the summed up basics to start and the guides to find the more in depth information to give you success in concurring Land Battles!
First a shout out to my Teachers who got me into this. TheYarrgh, Huseyin_Gazi and LadyD.
Great guides!
Huseyin_Gazi'ss guide can be found here: http://wiki.ogplanet.com/uwo/index.php?title=Dungeon_Guide
vladimirtch's Good but has some things missing: http://nforum.ogplanet.com/uwo/forum_posts.asp?TID=636951

Back to basics!
How should you begin? Well first I am going to tell you about some things that might be different then you expect, dispel some Myths if you will.
Do I Need to be in a battler job to do Land Battle?
NO! or at least not necessarily.all of your levels matter to your HP, Atk and Def, However, it may be more beneficial if you are not. Here is why, Land battle stats are figured by Total Lvl and Job/profession, example HP:
HP = 30 + 5*(Lvl of current class) + 2.5*(Lvl of other two classes added)
so lets say you have 25 Adv. 52 Trade 17 battle and you are a cook since you are in a trade job you get 395 points to your health. Now lets say you change to a battler job like Sword fighter, you just dropped to 307.5
HP. So basing your job on the right formulas will help a lot.
Here are the other formulas for the other stats:
ATK:
Melee (Sword Spear Axe): (equipment attack power + battle level + forte weapon attack bonus + swordplay * 3 + sword mastery * 1) * 0.95~0.99
Middle(Throw)
Equipment Attack Power + Battle Level / 2 + Forte Weapon Attack Bonus + Throwing * 4
Range(Gun Bow): Equipment Attack Power + Battle Level / 2 + Forte Weapon Attack Bonus + Sniping * 4
Def Possible Formulas The first seems more likely from my experience:
Melee Formula 1
First Aid * 3 + Battle Level + Equipment Defense Power
Middle
Middle: (Swordplay * 2.5 + Battle Level / 2 + Equipment Defense Power) * 0.8
Range
Range: (Swordplay * 2.5 + Battle Level / 2 + Equipment Defense Power) * 0.7
Formula 2
Equipment Defense Power + Class Bonus
I'm working on an Spread sheet for easy Calculating.
So Job really matters which is Really great news for traders and Adventurers a like
So what Jobs should I be in and does this mean that being a trader I'm useless?
Think of it it this way if you have played other MMO's you know most of them have a Classes that's tank, DPS and healers. Well really UWO is no Different just a little grey in those definitions, but Essentially Battlers are Tanks, Adventures are like Rouges or Hunters in their abilities so Damage dealers heavy Area of Effect. and Traders are more Healers/Techs/Aides focusing on Items and Item Techs (Check above guides for Techs).
So in a Party all have rolls to play and all can be Very successful as Solo too.
Well first lets look at the Best Skills to use as we can then see what is best for each class:
Overall skills:
Trap: Helps to avoid them in Dungeons the higher the LVL also some great Techs
Unlock: for Chests, Secret and Puzzles the higher you have the more acces you have.
Storage:(used to be more effective as it protected items from being looted now it saves you Money the higher the Rank
Swordplay
Raises attack power of close-range weapons in land battle which includes swords, axe, hammer, staff and spear. It also helps you to unlock Rank 2+ weapon-techs of close-range weapons.
Sword mastery
Raises the attack speed and power in land battle of close-range weapons. This skill is also required to unlock higher ranks weapon-tech of close-range weapons.
Throwing
Raises the attack speed and power in land battle of throwing weapons. This kind of weapon-specialization suits the best with using Trap-tech in my personal experience since the Tech and this weapon has the same range. This is also required for certain Trap-techs and weapon-techs of Throwing.
Gunfire
Supports the attack speed of gun-weapons in land battle.
Sniping
Raises the attack speed and power of long-ranged weapons which includes guns and bows. This skill is also required to unlock higher ranks weapon-techs of long-ranged weapons.
Merchandise Knowledge
Allows you to obtain Item-techs which influence the effectiveness of Land Battle Items like spreading the range, lowering cool down or increasing the effectiveness. Very useful in fleet.
Other skills:
In case you’re interested to collect Techs on Land for Trap-techs: Search, Ecological Research, Biology, Geography, Archaeology and Provision + Item-techs: Frugality. Further information about Techs see http://gvo.gamedb.info/wiki/?Combat/Technic (requires translation from browser and some names aren’t correct translated). This is where the Adventurer really shines, b/c the more Techs you have the faster they come available.
Jobs I am going to post these by Class type and just Copy them from Husyines Blog:
It is very important on which job you start to do dungeon, because in land battles the experience is based on which class job you got and dungeon is no exception from it. The gained experience from land battles will be shared when you are on a different job aside battle.
Some jobs have also a great benefit to certain skills especially the ones I've stated above. Here is the list of jobs which will help greatly in dungeons for each class:

Quest: Fierce warriors of Mohenjo-Daro (It has 2 pre-quests!)
Required skills: R12 Swordplay, R6 Assault and Indian
Location: Calicut Maritime Guild
http://uwodbmirror.ivyro.net/eg/main.php?id=99992911
Important note
In compare to other quests, job quests only appears if you meet ALL the skill and fame requirements so be careful not to waste your QMP's(Quest Medication Permit)! Leeching job quests isn't possible if you didn't finished the pre-quests!
But here again you need to realize that if you are a Trader and want to skill up in a Battle job, You NEED to consider doing a lower lvl Dungeon. Gear will only make up for a portion of the loss of level stats.
Equipment:
Does make a difference but it can make more of a difference what stats you have as well, losing 10 atk points for a +2 Swordplay for example is a good trade. Defense is very important and as such there are many times you might want to trade skills for stats but Def Points will usually win the day.
Store your gear and repair whenever you are not doing Land Battle to save on Durability. Using the World Tarot Card is great. the 20% percent Skill gain and then the huge jump in repairs it can do. Silver cards can give you that as well although at a less %. Remember to get the final bonus from those cards, after their 3 hour lifespan, you MUST be on the water! I recommend setting a timer. There are some good timers and Alarm clocks in the Windows Store.
When you go to a Dungeon Trade your gear out for more expensive items like ESBT's, SWMP, and PO's. There are traps that can burn Consumables and cash so try to go in with as little as possible.
Rome Coliseum!
Go here for prizes and great opportunities to test your skills as well as grind skills. You can trade in your Roman Coins here for a wide array of things, Furniture, Gear, weapons, Trade Adv. and Maritime Basic Job cards, and rare items. There is also a Land battle Vendor here that has all of you mid level Land battle items.
Techs
You can learn these all over the world they are based by the weapon you have NOT the weapon your enemy has. you can learn Trap Techs ad Item techs. Skill these up by use and by disarming. They can also be combined to make Ultimate Techs a Weapon attack a Item attack or Trap attack to make insane combos. This is where things can get really interesting.
Oxford
There are an entire series of Land battle special skills that give you some nice cumulative boosts.
Dungeon Puzzles
This is a really cool feature of Dungeons, Especially for Adventures, you have probably noticed the Brazers with different colors all around the rooms of the Dungeons. theses represent different Puzzles if you Deactivate the Brazers before engaging the enemies you can get bonus' and Defeat Enemies. Check out Sir Thomas Greshams Blog: https://stguwo.wordpress.com/dungeons/
Boss battle
Each part of the dungeon has a final floor on Upper, Medium and Lower. You often face some enemies that you’ve faced before and one special enemy (the boss) who has a name. They are considered the toughest opponents in dungeons as they are way smarter than an common enemy and also have higher stats. Most of them are counter-types, which will use the opposite weapon-tech against yours, when you use for example feint-techs then they will use quick-techs and try to chain you.
So I can say this for sure:
“Don’t use ANY weapon-techs, when they’re nearby you until they use their Techs! You can use that to counter their Techs to break their chain.”
Furthermore they can heal more times and uses Instagram to raise their attack- or defense power. With the raised attack power the boss can hit way more with techs than usual, so be wary! For this purpose I will describe each name of the boss with the belonging tactics that he uses. This may help a lot during the boss battle and to keep you safe from them.
I plan to update this more in time but for now this is what I got. Send me an IGM if you have anything to add.
